Helping roommates split the rent

Hi All,

I came across this cool tool written by a Harvard grad student called SplitTheRent.org. It helps roommates figure out, using an objective formula, how to split the rent. It takes into account different size rooms, noise, lack of windows, and other factors that make one room more or less desirable than another.

If you have units with multiple bedrooms that are not equivalent, do you run into any challenges marketing those units to roommates? I imagine that getting in the middle of a personal negotiation between friends (or strangers) might be awkward, but would you consider suggesting that your residents use this tool to take any emotions out of the equation?

I hope SplitTheRent.org can help some of you. It sounds like a great idea to me!
